Repairing Ripped Seams in Woven Fabric.

This is a very clear and concise video from Rokolee DIY on Youtube who shows us how to repair large ripped seams in a pair of sweatpants, but these techniques can be used for ripped seams in many different types of clothing such as sweatshirts, T-shirts and hoodies.

Rokolee DIY has also added a comment on her video for your reference "Method 1 is backstitch and method 2 is ladder stitch, both of which can be used on knit fabrics. On woven fabrics I would only use the backstitch technique." Her third stitch in this video is a Whip Stitch, which she uses at the end after she has stitched up the rip, to reinforce the repair and ensure that the repair lasts longer.

Just as the advice in the "repairing small holes" dropdown, we would recommend you use the same colour and weight of thread as the material you are repairing.
